The Garvey School District understands the value of positive discipline versus punitive discipline and in doing so as a district we are implementing Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) program at every school.

Our Rice PBIS Team is excited to be part of a district that understands the importance of such a focus. To support this initiative our very own Rice Team has been trained with the Los Angeles County Office of Education in PBIS this past year. PBIS is based on principles of applied behavior analysis, a proactive and prevention approach and values of positive behavior support.

Our goal is for full implementation at the onset of this school year and more information will follow as we continue on our journey to make sure all of our students are developing great social skills as 21st century leaders and are college bound!
