Welcome! My name is Ms. Chow and I teach 5th grade in Room 1. I have been a teacher in the Garvey School District since 1999.
Room 1 students will be reading the Harry Potter series of books throughout the year. One of our fun activities is making our magic wands! Those are a big hit during Open House.
Room 1 is also a Google Classroom. Students will learn to do word processing, create slideshow presentations (Power Point), create and use spreadsheets, develope website building skills, collaborate and share work using Google Drive, and students will learn how to code in computer language. The students in Room 1 will also become bloggers. Blogging becomes one of Room 1's highlights.
At the end of every year, each student will showcase their website on our Google Classroom website. The students are very proud of their work.
