“ Education of a child involves three major components: teacher , student and a parent”
US Department of Education
Hello everyone!
Welcome to First Grade room #14.
My name is Mrs. Tahmizian. I’ve been teaching first grade for the past 15 years. I am also a fully credentialed music teacher, and I largely use music in a classroom. It really helps my student to better understand various concepts and to retain the knowledge for a very long time. I strongly believe that daily music experiences help my students improve their mathematical, reading and thinking skills. Music also helps in developing child’s imagination, it builds students’ character and enriches their lives in many different ways.
We are very special first graders because we’ve adopted Harvard School as a part of the No Excuses University program. Here is our chant:
Harvard, Harvard
We are SMART
WE work hard and
We are stars
H -A –R- V- A- R- D
Go Harvard!!!
Roar
My goal as a teacher is to share my love for teaching and my passion for music with my students. I encourage them to use their imagination and to think outside the box. I also encourage them to take risks and to share ideas. Together we are a big happy family. We celebrate each others talents and inspire each other to do the best that we can do.
