Dear Rice Rocket Families,

Welcome back to a wonderful new school year filled with opportunities, growth, and exciting adventures! I'm thrilled to kick off the 2026-2027 school year alongside each of you. I hope your summer provided you with the rest and joy you needed, recharging your energy for the year ahead. As we get ready to start this new year, my heart is filled with pride and enthusiasm to be part of this remarkable team. Together, we work hard to create a compassionate and supportive learning environment that thrives on collaboration, professionalism, and fresh ideas. Our commitment remains strong: to support each of you as we keep our students at the heart of everything we do. Let’s make this school year memorable for everyone, filled with inspiring experiences and shared successes! Thank you!

Class Assignments will be available in the Aeries Parent Portal on Monday, August 17th, and in front of our school office from 10-4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19th. Class assignments will not be changed during the first two weeks of school unless we need to open, close, or balance a classroom. 

All New Families are invited to meet me in front of our school on Wednesday, August 19th, from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. for a campus tour and a popsicle treat. I can’t wait to meet all of you!

Back-to-School Night: Special Education Preschool & TK Classes will host their night on Tuesday, August 18, from 4:00-5:00 p.m., and SDC TK/Kinder and Kinder-6th will host theirs on September 1, 2026, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. 

Morning Drop-Off on the First Day of School Only: Parents may walk their children directly to their classrooms on Thursday, August 19th. 

Morning Drop-Off Beginning Friday, August 20th: See the section titled Arrival/Drop Off on the next page. 

Rice Spirit Day and College Friday:  Wednesdays are Rice Spirit Days. Please have your child wear a Rice Shirt or red on Wednesdays, and their favorite college shirt on Fridays. 

Thank you for all your support! We are excited to begin our new journey together as we work to make this an unforgettable school year full of fantastic opportunities and growth for all of us. See you on Thursday, August 20th. Breakfast starts at 7:45 a.m. The line-up bell rings at 8:15 a.m., and the late bell rings at 8:20 am. Thank you!
